A French bistro will open its doors in Harrogate next week.
As the name suggests, the latest addition to Harrogate’s hospitality scene, Champagne + Fromage, focuses mainly on French champagne and cheeses.
Champagne + Fromage, which also has venues in London, Chester, Bath and the Isle of Wight, submitted two planning applications to North Yorkshire Council last month.
It sought approval to convert the vacant unit on Royal Parade - formerly occupied by The Spa Clinic – and display signs outside, but the council is yet to issue a verdict on either application.
Nevertheless, the company has announced the Harrogate site, which will be its sixth venue, will officially open on September 12.
The restaurant will open daily and people can expect champagnes, cheeses, sharing boards and bar snacks on the menu, as well as traditional French dishes such as tartiflette and fondue.
Stefano Frigerio, founder of Champagne + Fromage, said today:
Harrogate has such a vibrant food and drink culture, and we couldn’t think of a better place to share our passion for real champagne and authentic French cheese. We’re bringing a little slice of France to the heart of this beautiful town, not just opening a wine bar, but creating a space where people can come together, unwind, and enjoy the finest French delicacies in an authentic and welcoming environment.
The company was set up in Covent Garden in 2011.
