North Yorkshire Council’s leader and chief executive will brief Harrogate business leaders next week on the latest developments at County Hall.
Chief executive Richard Flinton and Councillor Carl Les, the Conservative leader, are expected to discuss topics such as reduced government funding, the Kex Gill bypass and the new Local Plan for housing.
They may also give an update on the £14.6 million Harrogate Station Gateway scheme.
The duo will address members of Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce at Rudding Park on Monday evening (January 12).
Mr Flinton and Cllr Les have briefed the chamber at the start of each year since North Yorkshire Council succeeded Harrogate Borough Council three years ago.

Phill Holdsworth
Chamber president Phill Holdsworth said:
As we enter 2026, understanding the shifting economic and political landscape is vital for every business owner in our district. We are operating in a climate where central government funding is tightening, yet the opportunities provided by devolution continue to evolve.
This event is about providing strategic clarity. It is an opportunity for our business community to hear directly from Carl Les and Richard Flinton about how these changes will impact the local economy. We encourage representatives of all organisations — whether members or first-time visitors — to attend and gain the foresight needed for informed business planning in the year ahead.
