Harrogate companies are uniting for the first Big Harrogate Sleepout to raise money for Harrogate Homeless Project.
The invite-only sleepout will take place on the evening of Thursday, October 3 at Harrogate Rugby Club.
Local companies including manufacturing firm Belzona and Harrogate Spring Water, are expected to be among those in attendance.
The event aims to raise awareness and funds for Harrogate Homeless Project, a charity based on Bower Street.
Richard Cooper, chief executive of Harrogate Homeless Project, said:
While many outsiders may see Harrogate as a prosperous place, the reality is that like any town in this country, it is home to people who do not have a secure home.
Our purpose as a charity is to provide people experiencing homelessness with a safe space to stay and the support they need to build confidence and move towards independent living.
The charity operates several initiatives to help those experiencing homelessness back into independent living, such as a day centre, emergency accommodation, a hostel and move-on accommodation.
Its services include access to psychotherapy and designated support workers.
Ian Swann, operations director at Harrogate Spring Water, who is joining the sleepout, said:
Homelessness is a pressing issue and events like the Big Harrogate Sleepout allow us to come together with other businesses to make a meaningful difference
Whilst the sleepout itself is an invite-only event, individuals and businesses can show their support by making donations or by providing in-kind contributions.
