A former Harrogate restaurant looks set to be converted into a Bupa health centre.
Bupa Occupational Health Limited, which is based in London, has submitted a plan to convert the former Estabulo Rodizio Bar and Grill on Albert Street.
The proposal, which has been tabled to North Yorkshire Council, would see the former restaurant changed to a wellbeing centre, which would deliver mental health services.
It would include 16 staff, including clinical psychologists, cognitive behavioural therapists and counsellors.
According to planning documents, the centre would be open from 8am until 10pm and offer 2,200 appointments per year.
The developer said:
The applicant is looking to deliver mental health services within a prime 2town centre location to ensure it is accessible to all and hopes to break down any perceived stigma around mental health issues.
Estabulo Rodizio Bar and Grill, which was a South American-themed restaurant, closed last year.
North Yorkshire Council will make a decision on the conversion plans at a later date.
