The A59 at Green Hammerton closed this afternoon following a serious collision.
North Yorkshire Police closed the road while emergency services responded to the incident.
According to North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service's incident report, firefighters from Harrogate and Acomb were mobilised at 1.15pm.
The report said a person was trapped in the vehicle after the collision.
It added:
"Crews were able to gain access to the casualty by using Packexe and a window punch. The casualty was moved to a road ambulance and the incident was left with paramedics."
Packexe is a self-adhesive film applied to vehicle glass that protects casualties and emergency services personnel from glass shards and dust making extrication faster and safer.
