Goldsborough Hall has been transformed into the lavish stately home of a famous boxing promoter in an upcoming film about the life of ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed.

The Jacobean building on the outskirts of Knaresborough will pose as the home of Frank Warren.

Warren managed Prince Naseem and has also worked with big-name boxers such as Tyson Fury, Chris Eubank, Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008.

Giant follows the story of Hamed’s rise to boxing stardom from his humble Sheffield roots.

Coming to cinemas on January 9, the film stars Amir El-Masry as Prince Naseem, while Bond actor Pierce Brosnan plays Brendan Ingle, Hamed’s grounded Irish trainer.

Goldsborough Hall owner, Mark Oglesby, told the Stray Ferret:

They came and filmed on a tight schedule, and we met Pierce Brosnan. Looking forward to seeing it when it comes out.

Prince Naseem Hamed lost only one bout during his 10-year career and had an 84% knockout percentage, with 31 from his 36 wins.

His brashness and swagger in the ring, paired with his incredible ring entrances, saw Prince Naseem shoot to stardom in the boxing world.

But his relationship with Ingle soured and the film tells the story of their journey.
