The Original Factory Shop closed its doors in Ripon for the final time yesterday after 41 years.
The Stray Ferret revealed in November that the shop on Fishergate, which opened in 1985, was to cease trading.
The company claimed at the time there was “still no firm decision on if or when the Ripon store will close”.
However, the Factory Shop Ltd, which trades as The Original Factory shop, fell into administration on January 28.
It continued to operate under the control of joint administrators from Interpath Advisory but the company posted on social media yesterday (March 28):
“We are very sad to announce that at the end of today the 28th of March we will be closing the doors for the very last time.”
A 70% off sale was advertised in the window.
Independent cinema operators John Tate and John Hewitt have said they want to open a three-screen cinema on the site.
