A woman has been accused of a string of offences across the Harrogate district and in Leeds.
Chelsea Watson, 34, has been charged with eight offences: four counts of assault by beating; one count of persistently making use of a public communications network to cause annoyance; one count of theft from a shop; one count of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 and one count of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause alarm or distress.
According to court documents, Ms Watson stole three vapes valued at £17.97 from the BP garage on Ripon’s North Street on August 4 last year.
On November 14, she is alleged to have persistently made use of a public communications network for the purpose of causing annoyance or anxiety at Harrogate Convention Centre.
The defendant is also accused of assaulting a named woman at Harrogate Bus Station on December 12, as well as using threatening or abusive words or behaviour which likely would have caused someone to feel distressed.
Ms Watson, whose address is listed as both Spa Lane in Starbeck and Strathmore View in the Harehills area of Leeds, allegedly assaulted a named man at One Stop on Harrogate’s Devonshire Place on January 2 this year.
On the same day, she is accused of intentionally damaging four bottles of wine and two display stands at the One Stop store.
In addition, Ms Watson is alleged to have assaulted a named man at Victoria Gate in Leeds, and another named man at Victoria Arcade in Leeds, on January 18.
The case was adjourned until March 3, when Ms Watson is due to appear at York Magistrates Court.
