Plan for 85 new homes in Bishop Monkton
A plan has been submitted to build 85 new homes in Bishop Monkton.
The proposal, which has been tabled by Caddick Land Ltd, would see the houses built on land south of Mains Lane in the village.
According to planning documents, a mixture of two, three, and four-bedroom homes with private gardens on the site.
The scheme would see market houses built, but 40% of the homes would be allocated as affordable housing.
The developer said in its planning statement that the scheme would help to provide “much needed” new homes in North Yorkshire.
It said:
The delivery of the site can create a high quality and sensitive extension to Bishop Monkton. The site is an opportunity to provide much needed new homes in North Yorkshire supporting the existing local facilities within the village and providing opportunity for new facilities for the benefit of existing and future residents of Bishop Monkton.
The developer said in planning documents that vehicle and cycle access would be provided to the site from Knaresborough Road.
It added that associated landscaping, open space and infrastructure work is also included in the scheme.
North Yorkshire Council will make a decision on the plan at a later date.
