A developer has revealed plans to build 80 new homes in Scotton.
Bellway Homes, which is based in Newcastle, is proposing the scheme on land north of Ripley Road in the village.
According to a leaflet which has been distributed to local residents, the scheme would also have the “potential for a new convenience store”.
The developer has yet to submit formal plans, but has sought views as part of a consultation to “help shape the final proposals”.
The move comes as Bellway Homes is also behind major plans for 120 homes in Killinghall.
Bellway put forward outline plans to build the houses on a 16-acre field just off the A61 Ripon Road in December 2025.
It said the development would include a “large new area of open space”, which would be accessible to residents, as well as "wildlife-friendly planting" and a pond to manage surface water and support natural habitats.
North Yorkshire Council will make a decision on the proposal at a later date.
