Fire crews from Ripon, Harrogate and Masham tackled a blaze at a care home on Borrage Lane in Ripon last night (September 27).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s overnight incident report said it was alerted to an incident at a “large multi-residency” premises at 10.55pm.
The Stray Ferret went to Borrage Lane this morning and understands the fire took place at Borrage House. There was no external indication of the fire.
The incident report added:
Crews responded to a fire in the laundry room of a large multi residency premises. On arrival crews found the laundry room well alight and smoke logging throughout the ground floor.
Crews used a total of six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and three thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire. Onsite staff carried out an evacuation of all residents from the building. Positive pressure ventilation was used to clear smoke logging.
