Local schools have announced they will be closed today due to the weather.
Harrogate High School has informed parents it will be closed. So has St John Fisher Catholic Academy and King James's School in Knaresborough and Nidderdale High School, Rossett School and Rossett Acre.
St Aidan's Church of England High School is also closed due to "hazardous conditions in and around schools".
Harrogate Grammar School is also closed.
Oatlands Infant School is effectively closed, with only skeleton staff on site for anyone who can't make other childcare arrangements.
Springwater School is Starbeck is also closed today due to staff shortages.
The Forest School, on Park Lane, Knaresborough sent out a message this morning saying it was closed "due to the bad weather in the local area".
We will update this story as the weather continues to cause disruption.
According to the Met Office, it curently feels like minus six degrees outside and will feel like minus nine tonight.
Today's maximum temperature will be one degree so there will be little thawing of ice.
