Full line-up for 2024 Harrogate Literature Festival revealed

The full programme has been announced for this year’s Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival.

The festival, which will take place from October 10-20 at the Crown Hotel, is organised by Harrogate International Festivals and sponsored by Raworths Solicitors. 

This year’s line-up includes former prime minister Theresa May, broadcaster Dame Joan Bakewell, The Yorkshire Vet's Julian Norton.

Also, ex-England footballer Peter Reid, who managed Leeds United, will talk about the highs and lows of his playing and managerial days.

Continuing the sporting theme, former England cricketer Monty Panesar will recount some of his greatest matches and discuss his autobiography, The Full Monty.

Wine expert and TV presenter Tom Surgery and etiquette coach and Sunday Times bestselling author William Hanson will also join the line-up.

Authors Victoria Hislop and Alison Weir will discuss their new works, The Figurine and Mary I: Queen of Sorrows, respectively.

Doctor turned comedian and writer Adam Kay, will talk about his latest book, Undoctored, and share candid stories from his time in healthcare.

Actor, comedian and writer Doon Mackichan, whose credits include The Day Today, Two Doors Down and Smack the Pony, will discuss her feminist memoir My Lady Parts.

Broadcaster Ros Atkins will talk about his book The Art of Explanation and his career in journalism.
