Running club Harrogate Harriers is expecting the biggest entry ever for its annual 10k event on Sunday (June 30).
The event, which starts and finishes at Harrogate Sports and Fitness Club off Hookstone Wood, caters for up to 1,000 runners.
About 800 places have already been sold and with entries available on the day numbers could be close to the maximum.
The race, which starts at 10am, is held on a mixed-terrain route but 70% is tarmac. It ends with the ‘Crimple killer’ — an uphill final one kilometre in Crimple Valley to the finish line.
The one-mile junior fun run that precedes it at 9am has reached its maximum limit of 100 runners, which means entries won’t be available on the day.
Issy Rowe, head of race experience at Harrogate Harriers, said:
We’ve learned from all of our previous feedback and put on an event we think everyone will love.
From great medals to first rate goody bags, a live DJ and various food, drink, massage and trade stands this is going to be our best event yet.

Knaresborough-based Harmony Energy is once again sponsoring the event. Harmony founder Peter Kavanagh is a keen runner who has taken part in previous races.
Entry costs £19 in advance and increases to £21 on the day. You can enter here.
