Harrogate Business Improvement District has said that Matthew Chapman has resigned from his position as chief executive with immediate effect.
In a short statement today, the organisation said it was due to 'personal reasons'.
The statement added:
His resignation has been accepted and the board is now focused on ensuring continuity and maintaining the delivery of key projects and support for Harrogate’s business community.
Harrogate BID remains committed to enhancing the town as a thriving destination and will continue to work closely with stakeholders, partners and our local community.
No further comments or updates will be made at this time.
Mr Chapman took charge of Harrogate BID, which is funded by town centre businesses to increase footfall, in May 2021.
He helped to secure another five-year term for the organisation in 2023.
