Harrogate’s Barking George has been named as one of the best 13 bars in the country.
The venue, which is situated inside the Harrogate Inn, was named best pub and bar in the Yorkshire and Humber region in the 2024 National Pub and Bar Awards.
Having qualified for the finals by winning the North Yorkshire title in April, it was up against The Old Star at Kilham, The Red Cow in Fishtoft, Public in Sheffield and Call Lane Social in Leeds.
Barking George was praised for providing an environment in keeping with the spa town’s upmarket hospitality scene.
Opening after a multi-million-pound renovation in July 2023, The Harrogate Inn is one of three new local venues owned by the Inn Collection Group.
The Knaresborough Inn replaced the old Dower House and the Ripon Inn replaced Ripon Spa Hotel.

General manager Henry White said:
We’ve had an incredible first year as Barking George and the Harrogate Inn and the response to the change from the old hotel to a vibrant new bar has been so well received.
