A Harrogate man has been jailed for breaching a domestic violence protection order.
Wayne Ratchford, of Fairfax Avenue, admitted to breaching the order at York Magistrates Court on Monday (April 21).
Ratchford breached the order just 13 days after it was imposed on April 5, when he contacted the unnamed complainant by leaving them a voicemail.
The 52-year-old defendant was sentenced to 28 days in custody.
A court document says the offence was so serious that it justified a custodial sentence, adding Ratchford has a “flagrant disregard for court orders”.
