Harrogate road closes for eight weeks
Swan Road in Harrogate is to close for up to eight weeks as Yorkshire Water continues to replace the water mains network.
During the closure, which is set to start today (July 20) and finish in September, the pavement will not be closed, but drivers are advised to take the diversion route via Crescent Road, Ripon Road and York Road.

A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said the mains will be replaced with durable, flexible, plastic pipework.
The work will improve the reliability of the drinking water supply, reduce leakage, and prevent water main bursts in the area.
He added:

It’s a vitally important scheme for this part of Harrogate, and will help us to deliver the quality of service that our customers rightly expect.
