Simon Weaver, Harrogate Town manager.

Harrogate Town will be aiming to extend their unbeaten start to the season ahead of a trip to Aldershot Town.

Town have managed two wins and a draw in the first three games of their National League campaign.

They head into tonight’s fixture, which kicks off at 7.45pm, hoping to extend that run.

Simon Weaver, Harrogate manager, said he was expecting a tough match as his men play their first evening match of the season.

He said:

They’re a threat down the flanks and quick at counter attacking. They will be spurred on by the fact that they got a point in the last minute [against Kidderminster Harriers] when they went down to nine men. It is an obvious sign of good spirits in the camp.

At set pieces they’re a handful, so it is a tough National League game. We are not underestimating them at all. We have got to work hard at being a very good version of ourselves and hopefully come away with a good outcome.

Tonight’s fixture at Aldershot is the first of two games over the bank holiday weekend for Town.

Harrogate host Gateshead FC at the Marcy Fitness Stadium on Monday (August 31).

Weaver said he would look to manage minutes ahead of two games over the weekend.

He said:

We’ll manage the minutes quite possibly during this game and after it. We have had a good break since last Saturday and all the lads are fresh and ready to go again.
