Harrogate Town are set for a huge clash in the FA Cup third round against Leeds United — a tie which will also see them receive a significant financial windfall.
Harrogate booked their place in the third round after defeating Gainsborough Trinity 1-0 on Friday (November 29).
The victory has earned them an eagerly awaited trip to Elland Road for a Yorkshire derby in January.
Following the third round draw, here is everything we know so far about what will be one of Town’s biggest games in their history.
Third round ties are expected to be held on the weekend of Saturday January 11, 2025.
However, matches may be moved if they are picked for television, probably to the day before or the Sunday or Monday afterwards. Both Harrogate Town and Leeds United will confirm full match details at a later date.
Both Harrogate Town and Leeds United will confirm ticket details at a later date.
The clubs will need to agree an away allocation for Town fans and ticket prices. Once these have been agreed, tickets will be available to purchase from Harrogate Town.
Full details about allocation and tickets are likely to be two weeks before the match is held.
While some supporters may have preferred a home match, an away trip to Elland Road is expected to be a big earner for Harrogate.
As a result of reaching the third round, Town have already earned £120,000 in prize money.
Should Simon Weaver's men pull off an upset and reach the fourth round with a victory at Elland Road, they would receive a further £115,000.

Those teams who are knocked out at the third round stage receive £25,000.
However, financially the match means more than just prize money.
The trip to Leeds will see Harrogate receive 45% of the gate receipts on the day of the game.
Given that Elland Road can hold up to 37,000 fans on any given matchday, it will mean that Town stand to earn a significant sum on top of their second round prize money.
Last year Leeds charged a minimum £20 for adult tickets in their third round FA Cup tie against Plymouth at Elland Road, which indicates the match could generare around £740,000, although this all depends on ticket prices and sales. A 45% share of this would give about £362,000 — a huge sum for a club with an average home gate of about 2,600.
There is also the prospect that the game is broadcast live on television, which would see an additional sum for Harrogate. Last season, clubs picked for TV in the third round received a broadcast fee of £85,000.
Add together prize money, gate receipt and possible TV income, and Town could be in for a windfall of around half a million pounds from their trip to West Yorkshire.
