A jewellers on Harrogate’s prestigious James Street is to close.
Hugh Rice the Jewellers, which opened in the town in 2014, announced the news on social media today (September 13).
The post, which is signed by ‘the Hugh Rice family’, said the Harrogate shop will be closing later this month, adding the move will “help us to further concentrate on growing our other businesses in Hull and Beverley”.
It added:
The Hugh Rice team appreciate your loyal support to the business and would like to offer a warm welcome to our Hull Hugh Rice store.
The family-run company was established in 1971, and now offers an impressive range of watches – including brands such as Omega, Rolex and Tag Heuer – as well as wedding and designer jewellery.
The statement added the Hull store, which is around two hours from the Harrogate site, also stocks an extensive range of branded products.
It says:
The family would like to sincerely thank everyone involved, with a special mention to our wonderful Hugh Rice Harrogate team, who have contributed to so many successful years.
The Harrogate store, which employs five people, will cease trading on September 28.
The Stray Ferret approached Hugh Rice for a comment but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
