Knaresborough is preparing for the return of its annual beer festival this weekend.

Community group and bed race organisers Knaresborough Lions host the event as part of the town’s 10-day FEVA arts festival, which started last Friday.

There will be more than 20 beers and seven ciders available to choose from, as well as lager, Prosecco, Aperol spritz, wine and non-alcoholic options.

Festival-goers can enjoy their drinks alongside food from the burger bar, which will offer halloumi and mushroom burgers for vegetarians.

Club president John Smithells said the Lions are hoping the sun makes an appearance for the weekend, adding:

Our profits from the festival help finance Picnic in the Park, so we’re looking forward to people being able to enjoy the live music with a delicious pint in hand.

There will be drinks from local favourites, including Harrogate’s Rooster’s Brewing Co, as well as from breweries further afield in Sussex and Bristol.

Ciders will range from a traditional scrumpy to a perry and rhubarb or orange-flavoured offerings.

Mr Smithell added:

We’d like to thank all our generous barrel sponsors, local breweries and pubs who help with the event, and particularly Ian Fozard from Rooster’s brewery who has come up once again with a fantastic choice of beer and cider for people to try.

The main date is the Saturday afternoon when the beer festival will operate alongside Feva's Picnic in the Park at Knaresborough House.

The beer festival is free to enter and will run on Friday (5pm-11pm), Saturday (midday-11pm) and Sunday (midday-3pm).
