A Knaresborough man has been sentenced for breaching a restraining order just over two weeks after it was imposed.
Adam Stephenson, of Bank Court, pleaded guilty to harassment – breach of restraining order – at York Magistrates Court on June 2.
A two-year restraining order was imposed against Stephenson at Harrogate Magistrates Court on May 9.
He was ordered not to contact a woman, whose windows he threatened to smash on April 29, directly or indirectly.
However, according to court documents, the 42-year-old defendant contacted the named woman on May 27 – just 18 days after he was banned from doing so.
Stephenson was fined £120 for the breach and ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs.
