Noah’s Ark Pre-School in Knaresborough has received an ‘outstanding’ rating in its latest Ofsted report.

Inspectors praised the pre-school, located on Gracious Street, for its “broad and stimulating programme of learning” and for being “passionate about inclusion” so that “no child is left behind”.

The 20-pupil preschool was commended for the “strong relationships” that the adults have with the children, who “confidently welcome visitors to their preschool, where their wellbeing is of the highest priority”.

Ofsted said that “children are developing a real love of reading and literacy” and that “they are making excellent progress in their mathematical understanding”.

It added that the six members of staff are “exceptional role models for the children” and “absolutely love working at the preschool”.

Inspectors said that a resilient and independent attitude to problem solving is demonstrated by the children, aged from two to five, who “try things in different ways and are not afraid of making mistakes”.

Reflecting on the parents’ response, the report said that parents are impressed with the way that the staff “consistently go above and beyond to meet the needs of the children and their families”.

It added that parents “appreciate the wealth of information they receive about their children” and feel as though the preschool is “an extension of their family”.

Vickie Wrigglesworth, manager and special educational needs coordinator of the preschool, said:

We are delighted to receive an outstanding judgement in all areas following our recent Ofsted inspection. Our whole team of dedicated and experienced professionals have rightly been recognised for their care and enthusiasm.

Their belief that we can positively impact our children’s love of learning continues to shine through and we would like to thank all our lovely families, past and present, for their kind comments and support.

The inspection is an improvement on the ‘good’ rating that the preschool received after their previous Ofsted inspection in 2018.
