A man has been charged with attempted murder after a knife attack near Ripon last Thursday (December 4).
Gary John Holdsworth, 51, is accused of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He appeared at York Magistrates Court charged with the alleged offences this morning (December 8).
North Yorkshire Police previously said paramedics called for officers’ help at around 11.39pm that night after a man in his 40s suffered a wound to his neck.
He was taken to hospital for treatment at the time but has since been discharged.
Two men – one in his 40s and one in his 50s – were arrested at the time.
Police said all parties were believed to be known to each other.
The man in his 40s has been released on conditional bail, the force said today.
