A national home care provider has opened a branch in Knaresborough.
Helping Hands, which has more than 150 branches in England and Wales, opened the doors to its first Harrogate district site on Monday (February 10).
The company is based at Knaresborough Technology Park, but staff will support residents across the district, including in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Pateley Bridge and surrounding villages.
Branch manager Victoria Charles told the Stray Ferret Helping Hands offers home care to “anyone who wants to be in their own home”.
It provides respite care and round-the-clock support, as well as live-in carers.
Ms Charles said care is catered to the individual, and staff offer a range of support from complex care to "changing beds or reminding people to eat".
She added:
Our staff are highly trained. We go above and beyond, and we offer people the right care with the right person.
The new branch has so far employed 15 people, all of whom are local, but Ms Charles said the team is still growing.
Helping Hands Knaresborough is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, but there is an out-of-hours phone line.
"Someone is always at the end of the phone”, Ms Charles said.
