Harrogate's second Irish bar looks set to open in the former Manahatta site.
The Stray Ferret broke the news yesterday that Katie O’Brien’s Irish Tavern was expanding into Leeds and Harrogate.
The company currently has pubs in Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Newcastle and Durham. It said the Leeds pub will open on October 11 but did not reveal where the Harrogate bar would be located or when it will open.
However, it seems Katie O'Brien's will occupy the former Manahatta bar on The Ginnel.
Manahatta was located in Harrogate House, which the Stray Ferret revealed yesterday (September 24) is to be auctioned.
In its marketing for Harrogate House, property firm Savills says Katie O'Brien's is the proposed assignee of the lease for the ex-Manahatta site.
Manahatta, owned by Arc Inspirations, closed in July after five years of trading.
Katie O'Brien's will become the second Irish bar in Harrogate after the first, The Four Leaf, opened on John Street in March this year.
