The Coach & Horses in Harrogate has reopened today (July 1) after an extensive refurbishment.
The pub closed for three weeks while it was redecorated and the bar moved to the south wall.
The exact cost of the refurbishment has not been revealed but the Stray Ferret has been told it amounts to a six-figure sum.
Provenance Inns bought the pub on West Park from previous landlord John Nelson in 2021.
It preceeded to refurbish the venue by reinstating the corner entrance and removing the central bar.
But the new, smaller bar at the back of the pub met with a mixed reaction and last year the company applied for a variation of its premises licence to relocate the bar, to the south wall against White's clothes shop.

Coach and Horses manager Chris Sumner said:
I think it is a really good improvement, and I think it will be very well received.
Supervisor Neo Parker and waitress Blythe Warner
Neo Parker, supervisor at the Coach and Horses, said:
I love it. I prefer it and I am really looking forward to what the future will bring.
The pub reopened officially today at 12pm, after a two-day soft launch over the weekend.
Two of the pub’s regulars visited at 12pm sharp.
Coach and Horses regulars Jonny Hick and Geoff Greensword
One of them, Jonny Hick, said:
I love it. I didn’t like the old bar. When the bar was in the centre it was a community and wasn’t just a pub, it was an institute. Everyone I know in Harrogate I met around that bar. I think this will bring back the sense of community.
Coach and Horses new bar
The refurbishment has given the pub two new bars, which are set to introduce a new happy hour from 4-7pm daily.
Provenance Inns also owns West Park Hotel on the same street.
