The parents of the last baby born at Harrogate District Hospital in 2024 have spoken of their joy.

Leo Dean Linskill entered the world at 4.26pm on December 31.

His parents, Emma and Kiel, said Leo was the last baby born on the hospital's maternity unit in the calendar year.

Emma, who is from Boroughbridge, got in touch with the Stray Ferret to share the news.

She said Leo was not due to be born for another two weeks. However, she added that knowing he was the last baby born in 2024 at the hospital made the occasion all the more special.

Emma said:

We couldn’t believe it as his due date wasn’t until the 14th January, however he must of really wanted to be a 2024 baby.

We’re thrilled he was the last baby of 2024 in Harrogate, and just made it all that bit more special for us.
