Police seek witnesses to combine harvester crash on A59
Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash involving two cars and a combine harvester on the A59 at the weekend.
The collision happened on the A59 at Kirk Hammerton at around 3.40pm on Saturday (July 11).
It involved a dark-coloured Mercedes E class, a blue Alpine and the combine, which were all travelling in the direction of York.
A North Yorkshire Police statement today (July 13) said:
The driver of the Mercedes - a man in his 30s from Bradford - was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug driving and taken to hospital before being discharged following treatment.
The road was closed for several hours while we investigated the scene and to allow the vehicles involved to be recovered.
We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, specifically anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, especially in regard to any overtaking manoeuvres of the Mercedes to contact us.
