A rare crystal vase is set to go under the hammer this week at a Harrogate auction.
Morphets of Harrogate will auction the Lalique Grand Anemone vase for charity in its fine art and antique auction tomorrow (September 5).
The floral crystal piece is estimated to fetch between £15,000 to £18,000. The vase dates from 2016 is one of an edition of 188 and rarely comes on the market.
All proceeds will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. The buyer's premium and vendor’s commission will not be charged on the lot to maximise the amount raised.
Morphets of Harrogate described the vase as an “exquisite piece.”
Elizabeth Pepper-Darling, owner of Morphets of Harrogate, said:
It was donated to the Macmillan cancer charity by a major London company who had it gifted to them by a client. As they were unable to display the vase in their offices it was decided, with the client’s consent, that it should be given to the cancer charity to sell to fund their work. The charity are not able to give the name of the company which made the donation.
It goes without saying that we would like to raise as much as possible for Macmillan.
The vase is numbered edition 087, witch an etched signature 'Lalique France' in script on the underside. It stands at 48cm high, complete with certificate of authenticity and also has a fitted black case.
The fine art and antiques auction is set to take place at 10am on Thursday, September 5.
It can be viewed at Morphets on Albert Street between 10am and 5pm today (September 4) and between 9am and 10am tomorrow.
