Charities that serve Ripon and neighbouring areas have received a boost from a bumper annual fundraising event held at the city's racecourse.
The 2024 Ripon Classic Car Gathering (RCCG) attracted almost 1,000 entries and more than 3,000 visitors.
It raised £12,000 which was shared between 11 organisations at last week's presentation evening, held in Hazel House.
The principal beneficiary from this year's gathering held on July 28, was the Harrogate and District branch of Parkinson's UK, which received £7,000 from funds raised through entry fees.to the event, where classic cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles and tractors were on display.

Branch chair John Sheepy, said:
There are more than 740 people across the district who have the condition, yet only 150 are registered as members of Parkinson's UK.
We will use this money to help publicise and raise awareness of our activities and there will be a particular focus on increasing the work that we do to support people with Parkinson's in Ripon.
Phill Greetham, the chair of RCCG told the Stray Ferret:
Our 29th annual gathering proved a great success and we are pleased that the money it raised has enabled us to support such a broad range of charities.
