Ripon Town Hall is marking tomorrow’s (May 17) International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia for the first time.
The day has been held annually since 2004 to raise awareness of violence and discrimination against LGBTQ+ people.
Councillor Jackie Crozier, who became Ripon mayor this week, said it was “a significant moment for Ripon”.
She added:
This visible act reflects a commitment to creating a more inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ colleagues, residents and visitors to our city.
Believe in standing up, speaking out, and taking action. . . today and every day.
