A young Ripon man has been sentenced for assaulting on on-duty police officer.
Reuben Cawthra, 21, admitted one offence of assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty during a hearing at York Magistrates Court yesterday (January 26).
According to court records, Cawthra assaulted a named police officer on January 5 on Aismunderby Road in Ripon.
Cawthra, of Aismunderby Road, was handed an 18-month community order.
During the course of the order, he must complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 73 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay the officer £100 in compensation.
