Arrests after suspected two-in-one burglary at Harrogate's Dene Park
Police have arrested a man and woman after a suspected two-in-one burglary in Harrogate.
A two-in-one burglary is when an offender breaks into a home specifically to steal car keys and a vehicle from outside in the same incident.
North Yorkshire Police said the force received reports of a house burglary in the Dene Park area just after 10am on Monday (June 8).
Entry is believed to have been gained through a downstairs window sometime between 7am and 10am that morning.
A white Ford transit van, which was parked outside the property, was stolen, along with keys, a logbook and a MOT certificate.
The stolen van was later located in the Starbeck area later that day, the force added.
Following CCTV and other enquiries, a 39-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A police statement added:
The man was also arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, and in connection to a second burglary at a retail premises.
Both remain in custody while our enquiries continue.
