A woman has been sentenced for causing £1,300 worth of damage to a Harrogate shopping centre.
Alisha Smith, 20, appeared at York Magistrates Court on Monday (January 19) charged with one offence of failing to surrender to police or court bail at the appointed time and one offence of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
She admitted both offences.
According to court documents, Smith damaged a glass door at Victoria Shopping Centre on May 25 last year.
The damage was valued at £1,396.
Smith, of East Parade in Harrogate, also failed to appear at Harrogate Magistrates Court as required on January 15, having been released on bail following the criminal damage incident.
The defendant was ordered to pay £300 in compensation for the criminal damage offence.
For the offence of failing to attend court, records say Smith was detained in the courthouse until court began.
“Detention deemed served by reason of time already spent in custody”, court documents add.
