Outdoor retailer opens Harrogate shop
One of England’s oldest outdoor retailers has officially opened its shop in Harrogate.
George Fisher, which was founded 67 years ago, previously only had a shop in Keswick in the Lake District.
Its second shop in Harrogate is located in the former Blacks unit on Station Parade, close to the train station. Both are owned by Scottish company Tiso.
The store sells brands including Fjallraven, Patagonia, Arc’teryx, Rab, Berghaus, The North Face, Passenger, Merrell & Scarpa.
Chris Tiso, chief executive of Tiso and George Fisher, said:
"We know that Harrogate like Keswick enjoys an all-year-round tourism market due to its excellent shopping, leisure and outdoor attractions.
"Harrogate is one of the best places to shop in the UK and we believe that all these factors will ensure George Fisher thrives and becomes a key destination in this historic town."
