Three months ago, Bailey Chadwick was killed after a hit-and-run near Pateley Bridge.
In the early hours of July 20, the 19-year-old was struck by a vehicle on the B6265 Lupton Bank between Pateley Bridge and Glasshouses. The driver fled the scene.
Floral tributes have been laid and two people have been arrested in the three months since his death, but nobody has been charged.
Bailey’s mother and stepfather issued an emotional public appeal at a police press conference on July 23, urging the driver to “do the right thing” and come forward.
However, developments in the case appear to have gone quiet.
Friends of Bailey continue to keep the case alive through posts on social media appealing for people to help the investigation.
The posts are shared widely, including in neighbouring Facebook groups in Ripon and Harrogate.
An example of one of the posts.
One post, which includes direct contact details for North Yorkshire Police's major collision investigation team, reads:
Do the right thing. Help us find answers. Help Bailey’s family find peace.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson told the Stray Ferret that enquiries into Bailey’s death continue and that there are no updates on the investigation at this time.
Much of the information surrounding the incident on July 20 remains the same as it did two months ago.
Police believe Bailey was hit when crossing the road at Lupton Bank sometime between 1.44am and 3.10am.
On July 24, officers arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The man, who has not been identified, was released on bail on July 26 and banned from entering North Yorkshire.
Just three days later, police made a second arrest in connection with the case.
A woman in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, but was released under investigation on July 31.

On August 5, police released CCTV images of two cars officers were trying to trace.
The force said at the time there was “no indication that the two vehicles have been involved in the collision” but believed the drivers may have “seen something of relevance” on the night of Bailey's death.
The drivers were located the following day and police said they were helping with the investigation.
However, since then, there have been no updates.
North Yorkshire Police has urged the public not to speculate on the incident, warning that to do so "may prejudice any potential future court proceedings”.
