Plans to expand a Harrogate micropub have been approved.
The Little Ale House submitted a change of use application to North Yorkshire Council in August, which outlined plans to take over a neighbouring unit.
The Cheltenham Crescent craft ale site, which opened in 2016, sought approval to expand operations into Jennifer Park Hair. It occupies unit nine, which is immediately next to the pub.
Owners Danni and Richard Park proposed to take on the ground floor of unit nine, excluding the hallway.
Both units share an entrance, and a proposed site plan suggests the applicants will create an opening from unit seven to unit nine to adjoin the spaces, as well as expand an existing opening in unit nine.
A proposed site layout is pictured below.
The application also said two new full-time staff members will be appointed as part of the project.
A report by the council says the only external alteration involves replacing a rear window with a door.
Environmental health said the expansion could potentially increase noise, but concluded there are “no major concerns”.
The application was approved subject to conditions on Tuesday (October 15).
The Stray Ferret approached The Little Ale House for comment, but we did not receive a response by the time of publication.

The news comes after The Little Ale House owners also submitted plans to open a second site in York.
The Stray Ferret reported on the application at the time, which was lodged to City of York Council in June and is still pending a decision.
The couple hope to convert the former Little Bettys Cafe unit on Stonegate into a shop and pub.
Harrogate Tipple, which operates in Ripley, also occupies the unit above and Mr Park previously told the Stray Ferret both businesses would work together should the application be approved.
