A well-known pub in Beckwithshaw will close temporarily next week ahead of a major refurbishment.
The Smiths Arms - part of the Chef and Brewer Collection, owned by pub group Greene King - will shut its doors on Monday, August 4, with the renovated site set to reopen in September.
The pub’s outdoor areas will undergo a makeover as part of the six-figure investment into the site, which will include new garden furniture and an overhaul of the existing car park.
More accessible parking spaces will also be created.
The Smiths Arms’ interior will also be refreshed with new décor and furniture, as well as refurbished bathrooms.
The exact cost of the makeover and official reopening date have not been revealed.
