Firefighters had to rescue a person from a home on St Wilfrid’s Road in Ripon when fire broke out today (August 26).
Crews from Harrogate and Tadcaster were called to the blaze, which was reported to North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue at 7.11am this morning.
North Yorkshire Police cordoned off nearby Coltsgate Hill next to St Wilfrid’s Church while fire crews dealt with the incident.
The roof of one property was destroyed and adjacent properties were also affected.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service's incident report said one occupant had to be rescued.
Coltsgate Road has been cordoned off.
The incident report said:
"Crews carried out a search of the property and rescued one occupant from the property. Crews extinguished the fire and isolated the utilities. Crews made the scene safe and secured the premises."
