Four people have been arrested after large quantities of Class A drugs and weapons were found at a Harrogate home.
A North Yorkshire Police statement today said the arrests were made on Sunday (July 21) after officers received a call concerned about the welfare of a man, who was “believed to be under the influence of drugs” and wandering the streets.
The statement added the man was treated by paramedics, but was found to be in possession of a “large amount of cash” and suspected class A drugs.
The force said:
The incident led officers to search a house where they seized a number of weapons including an axe, sword, imitation firearm and a bladed claw.
[They also seized] more suspected class A drugs, drugs paraphernalia and equipment including body armour, handcuffs and a protective shield – the type used by police officers during public order situations.
Police said four people were arrested, including the man wandering the street initially. They did not name the street where the original incident happened.
A man, 20, was arrested on suspicion of supplying cocaine, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, acquiring criminal property (the seized money) and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
A 27-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
Police said a 33-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of the same charges, as well as theft.
A fifth woman, in her 40s, was issued with a cannabis warning.
Those involved have been released under investigation to allow for further enquiries to be carried out, the statement added.
