Great Ouseburn Post Office

Great Ouseburn Post Office will close next week for two months.

The branch at Ouseburn Village store, Main Street, Great Ouseburn will temporarily close for extensive building.

It is set to close on Tuesday, July 9, at 6pm.

The new owner of the shop and Post Office is undertaking the work and the Post Office predict the work on the retail side of the store will take approximately two months to complete.

The service will re-open on Thursday September 5, at 9am.

Ian Murphy, Post Office network provision lead, said:

We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work. The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it is necessary for the service to close temporarily.

The closest alternative branches are now:

  • Grafton Post Office, Marton, Marton Cum Grafton, YO51 9QY
  • Linton on Ouse Post Office, Linton on Ouse Village Hall, Main Street, Linton on Ouse, YO30 2AS
  • Green Hammerton Post Office, York Road, Green Hammerton, YO26 8BN

We have amended our coverage following an error by the Post Office yesterday. The correct closing date has now been updated.
