A house music festival is headed for Harrogate this weekend.

The Love to Be Festival, which is organised by Sheffield-based record label and events company Love to Be Events, will be held on the Stray on Saturday (September 14) – and some familiar faces are set to appear.

Happy Mondays’ Bez will perform an acid DJ house set on the Café Mambo stage – one of three stages at the festival – while Ibiza regular Darius Syrossian will be front and centre in the evening.

People can look forward to performances from Grammy award-winning DJ Roger Sanchez, who will headline the main stage, as well as Adelphi Music Factory, Barbara Tucker and Carly Foxx.

Organisers advertise the event as a “full festival production”, with two arenas and VIP areas, and claim nothing “as big as Love to Be Festival” has descended on the Stray before.

In addition to the music, there will be dancers, stilt-walkers and fire-breathers, organisers add.

The adults-only festival will include bars, where people can buy soft drinks and alcohol, as well as a food court.

People are not permitted to bring their own alcohol into the event.

Love to Be, which has been hosting events for 30 years, said there will be zero-tolerance drug policy and all festivalgoers’ bags will be checked upon entry.

Marc Dennis, operations director and performer, said:

We feel privileged to have been able to do our part in supporting house music over the past 30 years.

As we celebrate the 30th anniversary milestone, culminating in our very own festival, Love to Be will still deliver that proper '90s atmosphere combined with a modern-day vibe.

We can’t wait.

Love to Be Festival will take place from 12.30pm until 11pm.

Final release tickets are on sale now.
