The organiser of a fun fair returning to the Stray this week has promised it will be the biggest fair seen in Harrogate for 20 years.
The World of Fun event, which runs from Thursday to Sunday, will span the length of Oatlands Drive. It is the first time the fair has been held in Harrogate for six years.
It will include rides such as the Sky Swing, which soars 30 metres skywards, the suspended outward swinging Fusion and the 360 degree-soinning Vertigo, as well as more traditional fairground attractions such as a Waltzer, Dodgems, Twister, and Roller Coaster.
Albert Evans, head of World of Fun, said the fair would feature many rides never previously seen in Harrogate and which are usually only available at theme parks or the seaside.
Mr Evans added:
We are so excited to bring a fair back to North Yorkshire Council who have given us this opportunity to return. We wanted to bring a special fair with some new attractions and spectacular rides never seen in Harrogate before and we believe we have done just that with something for everyonethis year including lots of kids rides.
This will be World of Fun's first Harrogate fair post-covid.
Entry is free and the attractions iare open daily from 1pm to 9.30pm except Sunday when the fair will close at 7pm.
Work to improve the Stray along Oatlands Drive has taken place since a circus that took place in wet weather in June turned patches of land to mud.
