After a year standing vacant, the Black Swan pub at Burn Bridge looks set to reopen under new management.

The pub, near Harrogate, closed over the first weekend of June 2025, when its tenant decided not to renew their lease.

The Black Swan’s owner, Star Pubs – which is Heineken UK’s pub arm – said at the time that it wanted to bring in a temporary operator by the end of that month while it looked for “a longer-term solution”.

In September 2025, the company told the Stray Ferret that the pub was to undergo a “major revamp” while a permanent operator was being sought.

In November, a spokesperson told us the refurbishment would not happen until a permanent licensee had been found. It added that the company aimed to have the Black Swan open “under temporary management in late January / early February”.

But that did not happen, and no refurbishment appears to have happened, yet now it appears a relaunch is imminent.

Over the weekend, Yeadon-based Fresh Aire Cleaning Services posted a reel – a short video clip – on Facebook to say its staff had spent Saturday deep-cleaning the pub.

It added:

The Black Swan is now looking its best and ready to welcome customers back through its doors next week. We can’t wait to see it buzzing again!

The Stray Ferret has approached Star Pubs for more information.
