A Harrogate man has been jailed for 12 weeks for breaching a restraining order.
Stephen MacDonald, 39, of Ripon Road, Killinghall was jailed by York Magistrates Court yesterday (September 3).
He pleaded guilty to breaching the restraining order imposed by York Crown Court last October.
The court heard MacDonald had breached a restraining order imposed on him in October last year for harassment.
According to court documents, he was found by police at the Harrogate home of a woman he was prohibited from visiting by a restraining order.
They added the offence was "so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified", especially because of his previous record.
The reason given for imprisonment was the serious nature of the offence and his previous record.
MacDonald's guilty plea was also taken into account.
He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £154.
