Volunteer firefighters from Knaresborough helped to rescue a sheep stuck in water yesterday.
Knaresborough Fire Station, which is one of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service's on-call stations, shared details of the incident on social media.
The crew found the sheep trapped in water at Lower Dunsforth.
After hoisting it to safety, they stayed with the “exhausted ewe” until a farmer arrived.
Firefighters wished the sheep, which appeared to enjoy a mouthful of grass once safe, a swift recovery.
