A local man has denied tampering with cars on Harrogate streets.
Craig Kennedy appeared at York Magistrates Court on Saturday (October 18), when he denied five offences: four counts of vehicle interference and one count of theft from a motor vehicle.
It is alleged Mr Kennedy, whose address is listed as both Strawberry Dale Avenue and Bower Street in Harrogate, interfered with a black Mini at a property on Kent Road on May 28 and intended to steal it or part of its contents.
He is accused of committing the same offence on July 9, when he allegedly returned to the Kent Road property and interfered with the same black Mini.
Mr Kennedy, 37, is alleged to have gained access to a Ford Transit van that was parked on a driveway on Pannal Ash Grove and stole a nail gun valued at £500. This offence allegedly occurred on August 1.
According to court documents, the defendant then interfered with a black VW Polo at a property on Duchy Road on August 26. He is again accused of intending to steal the car or parts of it.
Finally, Mr Kennedy is accused of returning to the property on Kent Road for a third time on August 27 and interfering with the same black Mini. He again intended to steal the car or part of it, the prosecution claims.
The case was adjourned for trial, which will be held at Harrogate Magistrates Court on December 11.
