Mystery surrounds delayed reopening of Harrogate restaurant
A Harrogate restaurant that closed for refurbishment is still shut, weeks after it was due to reopen.
Asian restaurant Cardamom Black, on Cheltenham Parade, was expected to reopen in early July, according to a notice that remains on its website.
Cardamom Black's website still says the restaurant is due to reopen in early July 2026.
But the business is still closed, and when the Stray Ferret visited there were few signs of any refurbishment work being carried out.
We tried contacting the business for more information, but received no response.
The restaurant's Facebook and Instagram accounts were last updated in March 2026, and the last post on its X account dates from August 2025.

According to Companies House, the business, which is described on its website as a "pan-Asian brasserie and street kitchen", has not filed any accounts for 18 months.
Cardamom Black was first opened in 2011 by restaurateur Nick Rahman, following a £1 million renovation of the former Empire Theatre building.
It has won several titles in Yorkshire and nationally, triumphing at the Oliver Awards, the Best in Britain Awards, and the Northern Design Awards.
